About Robert

    Robert Garrison Zachritz, Owner & President of The Garrison, L.L.C., is an impact producer, author, international speaker, strategic consultant, and educator.  With over 35 years working in Washington, D.C., both for the United States Congress and an international Christian nonprofit organization, Robert brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table.

 

    Known for his innovation and exuberance, Robert is a thought-leader on teaching individuals how to become advocates by using their voice to create positive change in society and government policy. He is passionate that freedom of conscience is the bedrock of a healthy society.

 

    Having developed a wide range of expertise on various topics of which the underlying theme is freedom, Robert works with individuals, families, businesses, nonprofit organizations, churches, governments, and schools. Topics that he writes, speaks, consults, and teaches on include: advocacy, government, history, religious freedom, human rights, humanitarian work, non-profit sector, leadership development, business strategy, and organizational health.

 

    Robert has testified before the U.S. Congress, and has served as an advocate in various venues, including the White House, the U.S. Department of State, the World Trade Organization, the United Nations, and at G7/G20 meetings.

 

    Among Robert’s wide media experience in print, radio, television, and internet, his credits include Guest Contributor for U.S. News & World Report, Christianity Today, Religion News Service, The Economist, The Financial Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, The New York Times, Voice of America, CNN, and Fox News, among others.

 

    Robert earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations with a Minor in Religious Studies from Michigan State University, and a Master of Arts degree in International Transactions, concentrating on Trade and Business, from George Mason University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He also studied at Cambridge University in England, and in Moscow, Russia. Robert has traveled to more than 40 countries across Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East.

 

    He is married to Rebecca Daugherty Zachritz, an intellectual property attorney, brand consultant, homeschool educator, author, and arts advocate. They have two adult children who are the innovative podcasting duo known as Modern Insanity.
